The 2010 spring turkey season has started and shipments of Hunt Comfort products are stronger than anticipated. Hunt Comfort is expanding later this spring to accomodate for our new SL technology products. In anticipation of expansion, we began our largest warehouse clearance sale ever – we simply had to make room to grow and goods were priced for immediate sales. Dealers purchased 90% of the sale goods – our online store has Hot Deals until March 31.

Usually after our morning break, we meet to discuss work and often we talk about Hunt Comfort’s calls and e-mail. The one photograph that everyone has remembered and still talks about is from Major Keith Madere and Team Rackmaster serving in Iraq, We sent some Toppers to the men for use in their Humvees. This season we are thankful for the men and women in uniform keeping us free.

Wounded Warrior Hunts

All across the country this month, wounded warriors and hunting industry professionals are going hunting. Strong Medicine. Some of these hunts are taking place with the help of The Paralyzed Veteran’s of America. PVA has an Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund which supports outdoor sports programs for seriously wounded veterans. Hunt Comfort is donating seats to these hunts. What Made in USA means

When we make Hunt Comfort products, we try and keep it in the USA. A couple of parts we use are simply not available in the USA. Sometimes it seems surprising to us that our products are constructed with so many different things made by good people all across our land. Hunt Comfort has also introduced 2 New Camo Solid Colors: Coyote Tan and Foliage Green. The request for solid outdoor colors came from many customers – especially international customers. Customers save $5 per cushion without the licensed camo. The solution dyed fabrics are very handsome and feature matching Mil Spec hardware. These are perfect for ballgames and camp. Custom Shop Featured Ideas

Every now and then we like to show a couple of ideas which we have done for customers of our custom shop.

Here are a couple of recent designs that presented some interesting challenges:

This is a large triangular hang-on stand seat that is built using two FatBoys for maximum coverage. This cushion is big and it sits great.

This is a split cushion design. Unique to the cushion design are rounded edges on both inside top cushion surfaces. Cushion is based on the FatBoy.

Hunt Comfort is pleased to announce Skype Video service for customers of its Custom Shop. This free service enables clients to conveniently view their custom work and new ideas live with Hunt Comfort’s representatives. The ability to see and discuss options together provides a wonderful advantage toward saving time and money.

Skype service also allows international customers to contact Hunt Comfort at no charge. Skype offers free calls, video calls and instant messaging over the internet. Working through designs live streamlines the custom work process for both Hunt Comfort and its customers.

The video conferencing experience delivers a new level of communication for Hunt Comfort’s customers. While frame rate is dependent upon band width, live video gives Hunt Comfort the ability to show details and explain concepts visually and instantly. Video conferencing allows Hunt Comfort to deliver a fuller customer service experience, and thanks to Skype this service is available at no charge.

Anyone with a free Skype account can access this service. Customers without a web cam can still view the Hunt Comfort representative in real time from a computer with a Skype account. Service is by appointment.

Hunt Comfort FatBoy Lite has been awarded the Best Hunting Cushion in Outdoor Canada’s Best New Gear Awards for 2009. The awards are the cover story of the latest issue of Outdoor Canada magazine. We are honored to be selected as Hunting’s Top Gear 2009 by the hunting editors of Outdoor Canada who review a vast array of products from over 1,800 vendors at the SHOT show and end up with 35 of their absolute favorites.

50th Anniversary Wildlife Camp

The Evergreen community held its 50th Anniversary Rotary Wildlife Camp today. That is a big deal when you think about all the fun times since 1959. It was a great day of fun for everyone. I was lucky to be able to work with the campers on fishing and I even got covered up with some hugs. What a great idea 50 years ago.

Snake time rhyme

When we get all excited running around the woods chasing critters, we are going to encounter Mr. No Shoulders. I’ve got snake books and you could say that they were a fear motivated purchase (or you could say a rattlesnake sold them to me). The snake boots just don’t get packed all the time. When I saw this little snake it gave me the “Willies” big time. I am sticking with “caution is a good thing”.

All I could remember was “red on yellow kills a fellow” and that was enough to tell me this was a scarlet kingsnake not a coral snake. So the old rhyme goes like this: “Red on yellow – kills a fellow” or “Red touching black – is a friend of Jack”. Think about running that stop light red and yellow….bad.
