Bear Hunter’s Complaint

We get a good many notes from bear hunters who spend countless hours on stand waiting for bruins to appear.  Without a great seat, the end of the day can be a major pain in the buns.  North American Hunter Associate Editor Luke Hartle recently wrote this about the condition :

It’s no secret that Manitoba is home to some of the best black bear hunting in the world, but even so, I knew this was going to be a wait—then wait some more—type of hunt. I spent nearly 50 hours in a 3×3-foot stand that week, and the Climb-On seat cushion from Hunt Comfort saved my butt, literally. If you find yourself in a similar situation, regardless of the game you pursue, I recommend you tote one along.

The Leg - Whitetail Oddity

Hunt Comfort has a tool shop in the country and homecooked meals are enjoyed.  This past week we were having fresh country fried venison tenderloins and I looked up and noticed something very odd tied with Christmas ribbon.  Larry’s daughter was messing around over the holidays in some of her late granddad’s things and found this deer leg.  As the story goes, a little over 30 years ago around Camden, Alabama this deer was shot and its feet were badly deformed.  Never seen anything quite like it, not sure I ever want to again and I don’t think I would eat that venison!
